A potential configuration for using the OpenVMS x86_64 operating system to acquire, process and distribute local data using commodity x86 hardware was shown. VMS Software has since stated that this effort is no longer an active project.

James J. Preciado, LLC continued to work with the OpenVMS x86_64 operating system in an Edge system environment. Shown here is an effort which allows connecting an OpenVMS Edge/IoT system to external devices for the purpose of acquiring data from and controlling those external devices.
